Magmma Museum – Collections
Villacidro 10 January 2019 – Francesco Altomare is a Calabrian artist with extraordinary talents. He won the 2016 Edition of the Marchionni Prize, in the graphic section, proposing the work “Mito”. A veiled dedication, with puns, to the great sculptor Mitoraj; an interpretation that is magnificently successful where the technical inspiration is accompanied by the artistic one. Just that spark that emerges from the eye, hit the jury in awarding the first prize, including a choice of other high-level works. Now Francesco Altomare has decided to donate one of his works to the Magmma Museum. To enrich the museum collection comes an important piece: the work entitled “Rembrandt” which took part in the exhibition “Do you Re me mbrandt” on the occasion of the great exhibition on the Dutch artist, in May at the Magmma Museum and then at the Promenade Du Port of Porto Cervo. It’s a pencil and charcoal …. all to admire. Thanks Francesco.
